I have always been drawing, designing, dreaming, wondering what magic I could find, or better yet, create. I started commissioned portraits and sold my first artwork at the age of 15 (2004). In November 2009 I completed my Degree in Visual Communication Design and I've been adding to my portfolio, exploring new techniques, materials, subject matter and experimenting with colour, texture and form ever since.
I have had the fantastic opportunity to work in an environment where I was pushed to reach for more and step outside of my comfort zone at my full time graphic design role through my 20s.
I now find myself returning to my roots and working with my hands during my time caring for my little one's and working from home.
Bachelor of Visual Communication Design, Majoring in Graphic Design and Illustration. University of Newcastle, Callaghan, NSW, Australia.
Experimentation was key throughout my studies and I find the combination of using traditional mediums and digital mediums to be an exciting and vast way of expressing my creativity.
I use many different mediums, such as watercolours, acrylics, and studio pencils for my artworks and illustrations. In addition to practising graphic design I also enjoy creating digital illustrations using a combination of illustrator, photoshop and traditional mediums. I believe in artistic exploration, each idea manifests in its own individual style.
Nature has been my all encompassing inspiration; I have given the stunning patterns in nature my utmost attention in my acrylics and watercolour works. I am constantly searching for new patterns in nature to explore and new ways of expressing them.
Since I became a mother to my beautiful daughter Luciana in 2016 and my sweet little man, Mateo, in 2018 I have been especially inspired to create my new children's art range of fun and colourful cartoon animals that brings me so much joy.
I have received some wonderful reviews from my clients, which has made my art journey very rewarding for me. My art is my life and I could not imagine doing anything else, it allows me to escape reality and reach for more. Art and illustration have a profound way of connecting people and I endeavour to inspire and uplift others through that process.
